DeleGate is a general purpose proxy server for various application protocols,
including HTTP, Gopher, WAIS, FTP, Telnet, NNTP, SMTP, POP, CU-SeeMe and so on.
It mediates communications among clients and servers which are isolated by
firewalls.
As a proxy server, DeleGate is compatible with CERN-HTTPD proxy,
Socks server, and several TIS FWTK proxies.
DeleGate supports caching for HTTP, Gopher, FTP and NNTP,
encoding and decoding of MIME format on NNTP, SMTP and POP,
character code conversion among three Japanese encodings,
and domain name resolution
by proxy for clients.
